Former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi has praised Rajasthan Royals’ young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi. This 15-year-old batsman caught everyone’s attention with his explosive batting against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026 Eliminator match. In this match played in New Chandigarh, Vaibhav played a brilliant inning of 97 runs in just 29 balls. Rain of fours and sixes was seen in his innings.
After the match, Lalit Modi posted on social media platform X and described Vaibhav as “the best purchase in IPL history”. Rajasthan Royals bought Vaibhav Suryavanshi for Rs 1.10 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. At that time, after a tough bid with Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan had included this young player in their team. Vaibhav was only 13 years old then and it was believed that the franchise was investing for the future. However, this young batsman from Bihar impressed everyone in his very first season. He made a explosive start by hitting a six against Shardul Thakur on the first ball of his IPL career.
