IPL 2026: Vaibhav Suryavanshi will break another record of Chris Gayle today!

Sports Desk. The second qualifier match of the Indian Premier League 2026 will be played today between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals at the Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh. In this match, Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi will have a chance to break the record of former great West Indies batsman Chris Gayle of 100 sixes in the fewest innings in IPL. Vaibhav has broken Gayle’s record of hitting most sixes in one edition.

Former left-handed opening batsman Gayle had completed 100 sixes in 37 innings in IPL.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also hit 89 sixes in 22 innings of 22 matches in IPL. So far he has scored 932 runs in IPL at an average of 42.36. If Vaibhav Suryavanshi manages to hit 11 more sixes today, he will become the player to complete a century of sixes in the shortest number of innings in IPL history.

Gayle will also break Andre Russell’s record

Apart from Chris Gayle’s record, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will also have a chance to break Andre Russell’s record. Andre Russell holds the record for completing 100 sixes in the fewest number of balls in the IPL.

Andre Russell had made a record of completing a century of sixes in only 657 balls. Now Rajasthan Royals opener Suryavanshi has a chance to get this record registered in his name. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has faced 402 balls so far. Vaibhav will also have a chance to complete his 1000 runs in IPL.
