Shubman Gill scored a century in Qualifier 2 to take the Gujarat Titans to the IPL 2026 final. Chasing 215 on a slow track in New Chandigarh, the Titans reached the target in 18.4 overs, with 7 wickets in hand. Gill’s fifth IPL hundred came in a winning cause. He posted 104 runs off 53 balls, laced with 15 fours and 3 sixes. The right-handed batter added 167 runs with Sai Sudharsan for the first wicket before Jofra Archer got rid of him.

The southpaw amassed 58 runs in 32 deliveries, including 8 fours and 1 six, before getting hit wicket on Brijesh Sharma’s ball. This is the second consecutive match in which Sai was dismissed hit wicket. He recorded his first hit-wicket dismissal of the 19th season in Qualifier 1 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Jos Buttler (9 off 9) and Rahul Tewatia ( 17 off 9) remained unbeaten.

GT will face RCB in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 31.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag won the toss and decided to bat first.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (1 off 2) and Dhruv Jurel (7 off 5) returned to the dressing room with just 9 runs on the board. However, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played the most challenging innings of his IPL career, amassing 96 runs in 47 balls, smashing 8 fours and 7 maximums.  Parag (11) and Dhruv Jurel (7) were disappointed with the bat. Ravindra Jadeja, who was promoted in the batting order and retired hurt due to an injury, returned to the middle to make a 45-run contribution in 35 balls. He struck 5 fours and 1 six in his unbeaten knock.

Donovan Ferreira provided finishing touches, scoring 38 not out in 11 balls, laced with 4 sixes and 2 fours.

Jason Holder was the pick of the bowlers, taking two wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs. Kagiso Rabada was also spot on, claiming two scalps for 35 runs. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna were expensive but took 1 wicket each.

Meanwhile, Gill is the first captain in IPL history to score a century in an IPL playoff match.
