Hello and Welcome to all

It is the second day of the one-off Test match between India and Afghanistan in New Chandigarh. The hosts began by winning the toss and batting first and posted a huge score of 368 on the board and are scoring at over four runs per over. The pitch still remains good for batting and perhaps the Indian side could be looking to post a huge total on the board so that they could just bat first.

KL Rahul was the first highlight of the opening day scoring a brilliant Test ton which was his 12th overall. Rahul, looked tentative early on and in fact there was even an edge that carried to wicketkeeper Afsar Zazai that the Afghanistan side failed to pick up. After that there weren’t many chances afforded by the right-handed batter.

Shubman Gill, became the fastest Indian skipper to reach 1000 runs in Test cricket. He is batting on 103 and needs further 54 runs to reach the 3000 run- mark in Test cricket. It would be interesting to see if the 26-year-old is able to reach his second double ton.

IND vs AFG: What to look forward to on day two?

Rishabh Pant playing his 50th Test has reached his fifty and could look to score his ninth century in this format. He also needs just three more sixes to reach the 100 mark.

Afghanistan have the option of taking the second new ball and one assumes Hasmatullah Shahidi will be keen to grab the new cherry first thing in the morning.

The hosts will be keenly looking at a score in range of 550-650 and then bowl out the opposition twice.
