Delhi: The only test is being played between India and Afghanistan from Saturday. This match is being held at Maharaj Yadvindra Singh International Stadium in Mullanpur. During this, Indian captain Shubhman Gill has scored a historic century. With this century, Gill has made a big record in his name. Gill has left Sourav Ganguly behind in terms of scoring most centuries as a captain in Test cricket.
Gill won the toss and decided to bat first. Gill came to bat at number four. Gill hit 11 fours and one six in his innings. Gill returned unbeaten after scoring 103 runs after the end of the first day’s play. This is Gill’s sixth century as captain. With this, he has become the fifth batsman to score the most centuries as Indian captain. During this period, Gill has left behind legends like Ganguly, Nawab Pataudi and MS Dhoni. All of them have five centuries each as captain.

The first day of the test match was in the name of India. By the end of the day’s play, India had scored 368 runs after losing three wickets in 85 overs. Apart from Gill, KL Rahul also scored a brilliant century. Rahul returned to the pavilion after scoring 100 runs. Whereas Sai Sudarshan played an inning of 81 runs. Whereas Rishabh Pant has returned unbeaten along with Gill. Pant is settled at the crease after scoring 50 runs. On the second day, Gill will be eyeing a double century. Whereas Pant would like to score another century in his name.
