IND vs AFG: The young Indian cricket team, captained by Shubman Gill, has created a stir in the record books by defeating Afghanistan by a huge margin of an innings and 300 runs in the only Test match played in Mullanpur. India achieved this historic success by all out the visiting team in both the innings on the third day of the game itself. This match completely witnessed the dominance of the Indian bowlers, especially the spinners, before whom the Afghan batsmen completely surrendered.

Let us tell you, in the match, India batted first and declared its first innings by scoring a huge score of 564 runs at the loss of 8 wickets.

In reply, the Afghanistan team, which came to play its first innings, fell apart like a pack of cards in front of the Indian attack and was reduced to just 152 runs. Young spinner Manav Suthar, playing his debut Test for India, displayed lethal bowling and took 6 important wickets for only 33 runs in 22 overs in the first innings and broke the back of Afghanistan.

After facing a huge deficit on the basis of first innings, Afghanistan came to play follow on and the situation was even worse in the second innings.

This time the pair of Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc. In the second inning, Sundar bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav took a total of 3 wickets. Kuldeep completely ended Afghanistan’s hopes by taking two consecutive wickets in the 36th over of the innings. Afghan batsman Ashraf could not come on the field to bat due to injury or other reason, due to which the second innings was limited to 112 runs. With this resounding victory, Shubman Gill has made a brilliant and record-breaking start to his Test journey as captain.
