Bangladesh beat Australia by 86 runs in the first ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Fast bowler Nahid Rana was the best performer with the ball for the hosts, taking 4/41 from his 10 overs. TheBAN vs AUS game saw an extremely heated moment take place between the pacer and Aussie skipper Josh Inglis after the batter was dismissed.

The incident happened in the first ball of the 11th over when the right-handed batter edged the ball clocked at 148KPH behind to Litton Das. Bangladeshi pacer celebrated aggressively, and this didn’t sit well with the opposition captain. Inglis turned towards the bowler and had a go at him, as the rest of the home team players came in and separated the two.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz calmed the situation down and patted the batter on his back. The umpire too headed towards the players and had a word with Najmul Shanto regarding the situation. The visiting skipper was out after scoring 19 runs from 25 balls with three hits to the fence.

Bangladesh complete easy win over ODI World Champions

The Kangaroos, already without some of their senior players, saw the hosts bat first and post 284 runs on the board.

Mosaddek Hossain, playing ODI cricket after a long gap, was the top scorer with 86 not out from 70 balls. Opening batter Tanzim Hasan Tamim batted aggressively to score 54 off 44 balls, while Shanto scored 67 crucial runs.

Taskin Ahmed got the wicket of Matthew Short in the very first ball of the chase to jolt the Aussies. Mustafizur Rahman then got the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne for one, and when Josh Inglis was out, the score was 51 for three.

Cameron Green and Alex Carey tried their best to resurrect the innings, but the hosts were just too good with the ball. Green was the top scorer for the current ODI World Cup winners with 52 not out from 66 balls, while Carey was out after scoring 47 runs. The rest of the batting carded folded pretty easily before bad weather interrupted, and saw the hosts win due to the Duckworth-Lewis method.
