Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scores sizzling 22-ball 44 in IND A vs AFG A tri-series match

India’s young batting sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshicame into his own with the bat for the India A side in the game against Afghanistan on Thursday. The left-handed batter scored 44 runs from just 22 balls with nine hits to the fence.

He also added 74 runs for the first wicket in just 43 balls with Prabhsimran Singh.

This knock comes after his score of 14 runs from 12 balls in the first match of the Tri-Series against hosts Sri Lanka on Tuesday. It was the Men in Blue who batted first after the opposition won the toss. Sooryavanshi got into the act right away with two successive fours in the first over off Mohammad Ibrahim’s bowling.

Rajasthan Royals batter then smashed Abdullah Ahmadzai for two crisp boundaries in the fourth over as India raced to 37 for no loss.

The next over, Ibrahim was deposited for two more fours over the third-man and wicket region as the batting side raced to their 50 after five overs.

Just when the southpaw was starting to look dangerous, he edged the ball to wicketkeeper Ishaq Rahimi to give Ahmadzai his first wicket of the day. This helped the Indian side get a good start to the game and put the pressure on the opposition bowlers right from the word go.

Prabhsimran misses out on his century

Punjab Kings batter Prabhsimran didn’t take a backseat to the pyro techniques at the other end.

The 25-year-old also went after the Afghan bowlers in the first two overs of the game. Priyansh Arya was out for eight runs as the batter offered a simple catch to Bahir Shah that gave Abdullah his second wicket of the game.

Singh got to his fifty with a crisp boundary off just 39 balls, much to the delight of his teammates.

The batter was looking well set for a ton, only to give the Afghan wicketkeeper an easy catch off Imran Mir’s bowling. His knock of 84 came off 69 balls with 14 hits to the fence.

Ruturaj Gaikwadwho had scored a century in the last game, continued his great run of form with yet another fifty. The 29-year-old reached his half-century in 65 balls to put Tilak Varma’s side in a strong position to post a huge total on the board.
