Delhi:Just before the start of the 3-match ODI series against India starting from June 13, the Afghanistan team has suffered a big blow. Actually, the team’s top order batsman Darvish Rasooli has returned to his country from Dharamshala just before the first ODI match, the big reason for which has come to light.
According to the report of Sports Tak, 26-year-old Darvish’s father has passed away suddenly, due to which he has gone back home to be with his family in this sad time.
Afghanistan Cricket Board has not yet announced his replacement. It will be really interesting to see who replaces Darvish in the squad of the Afghan team.Rasooli’s exclusion from the team is indeed a big blow for Afghanistan. Rasooli is one of the experienced batsmen of the team and has scored 515 runs in the 28 T20 International matches played so far. His statistics in domestic cricket are also quite impressive, where he has scored 2,681 runs in 30 first-class matches, 3,022 runs in 71 List-A matches and 2,004 runs in 92 T20 matches.
Afghanistan’s tour of India started on 6 June. The only Test match series between the two teams was played in New Chandigarh, in which Afghanistan had to face a humiliating defeat by a huge margin of one innings and 300 runs. Afghanistan is trying to give a tough competition to the hosts in the ODI series.
