Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri is known for his close-knit bond with Virat Kohli. The duo had won India many bilateral series during their stint together as the coach and captain of the Indian cricket team. Shastri didn’t reapply for the national team coach position in late 2021, which coincided with Virat stepping down as the white-ball captain.

Speaking to One8World, theformer India star was asked to reveal the one myth about Kohli’s personality on and off the field. To which he said, “Arrogant. Spoiled brat. Over the top. On edge. Everything is true, but on the field. Totally the opposite of it. I love people who can switch on like that and then switch off,”

It was under the Kohli and Shastri combination that the Indians won their first Test series in Australia during the 2018 tour.

Men in Blue also reached the 2019 ODI World Cup Semi-Finals before losing to New Zealand and missing out on a spot in the finals.

37-year-old batter is out of the IND vs AFG series after suffering a hamstring injury. Veteran star scored an unbeaten 72 for RCB in the finals of the IPL against Gujarat when the injury occurred.

As per reports, the cricketer should be fit to make it back to the side ahead of the England tour in July.

Former England spinner feels Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is putting pressure on India’s veteran duo

Graeme Swann, during his latest interview with PTI, said that young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is putting pressure on not just Virat but also former skipper Rohit Sharma.

The 47-year-old said, “It is inevitable with any player that when you get to the latter part of your career, people start to find your successor. There will always be the question of who the next Virat or Rohit will be.”

Swann also said, “One or two bad scores, then the players look over their shoulders. With Sooryavanshi coming through, and some other promising players, the onus is on the batters who are at the top of the order for India.”

When asked about Rohit’s current form with the bat, the former English star said, “Going to be huge six weeks for him.

He looks to be in good touch and still is one of the best players around. If I were an English bowler, Iwouldn’t want to bowl to him, because the batter is desperate to score runs and prove a point.”
