Delhi: Virat Kohli is the only player in the world to play 19 consecutive seasons for the same franchise in the Indian Premier League. If it is said that fans love RCB so much because of Kohli, then perhaps there would be nothing wrong in it. Kohli has played an important role in the two titles that the team has won. However, now fans are worried about how many more years Kohli will remain active in IPL.
Former Indian captain and legendary batsman Virat Kohli is now 37 years old. He has already retired from Test and T20 International cricket and now plays only ODI cricket. His next target is the ODI World Cup to be held in 2027, but how long will he continue playing as a player in the IPL? This is a question that comes up every year.
However, according to RCB CEO Rajesh Menon, fans will be able to see Kohli’s magic in this cash-rich league for at least the next four years.
Speaking to CNBC TV18, Menon said,
There are no signs of slowing down in Kohli’s game at the moment. Even today, he competes with the world’s greatest athletes in terms of fitness. In the last few seasons, he has completely transformed himself as a T20 batsman. This right-handed batsman has played a very aggressive role in the powerplay, even when he was batting with Phil Salt, who used to tear apart the opposition bowlers, his style remained intact.
In IPL 2026, he scored 675 runs in 16 matches at an excellent average of 56.25 and an explosive strike rate of 165.85, which is his best strike rate so far in a single season of the league.
During this period, King Kohli scored 1 century and 5 half-century innings. Kohli was chosen player of the match in the final match.
