While the things started getting out of hands for the West Indies, skipper Matthews brought herself into the attack at the right moment and gave the side their first breakthrough during the defence.
She took two further scalps during her exceptional four-over spell, giving away only 19 runs. Her victims of the evening were Katherine Fraser (20 off 11), Kathryn Bryce (0 off 2), and Megan McColl (1 off 2).
