Delhi: The last match of the two-match Test series between West Indies and Sri Lanka started on Friday. In this match being played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, the first day was in the name of Sri Lanka. For Sri Lanka, opener Lahiru Udara scored a brilliant century. Due to which Sri Lanka has scored 338 runs at the loss of 5 wickets by the end of the first day’s play.

Lahiru’s brilliant century

Sri Lanka won the toss in the match and decided to bat first. Sri Lanka had a bad start. Nishan Madushka was out after scoring 6 runs and Dinesh Chandimal was out after scoring only one run. Sri Lanka’s score became 25/2. After this, Lahiru Udara Kamindu Mendis took over the Sri Lankan innings. Both of them made a partnership of 215 runs for the third wicket. Kamindu Mendis was out after scoring 84 runs.

Whereas Udara scored a brilliant century and remained at the crease. He added 93 runs with captain Dhananjay de Silva for the fourth wicket.

Alzarri Joseph broke the partnership of Udara and Silva. Joseph ended Udara’s brilliant century innings. Udara missed by just 12 runs after scoring a double century. Udara scored 188 runs with the help of 21 fours and five sixes.

Eyes on Mendis on day two

By the end of the first day’s play, Sri Lanka had scored 338 runs at the loss of five wickets. Experienced wicketkeeper batsman Kusal Mendis is present at the crease without opening the account. Whereas, Sonal Dinusha is playing after scoring 5 runs. From here on, Mendis will play a big role in taking Sri Lanka to a big score on the second day.

If his bat works, Sri Lanka can take an even stronger hold on the match by scoring runs above 500.
