Beth Mooney delivered another ICC knockout masterclass, while Ashleigh Gardner produced a stellar all-round performance as six-time champions Australia stormed into their eighth Women's T20 World Cup final with a crushing eight-wicket win over West Indies at The Oval on Tuesday.

Chasing a modest 126, Australia finished with 42 balls to spare, the biggest victory by balls remaining in ICC Women's T20 World Cup knockout history for targets over 100. Mooney remained unbeaten on 61 off 36 balls, registering the fourth-highest individual score by an Australian in a World Cup knockout.
Only her own 78 (2020 final), Alyssa Healy's 75 (2020 final), and her 74 (2023 final) rank higher.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and elected to field. West Indies suffered a blow even before the start when star all-rounder Deandra Dottin experienced a minor medical issue and was taken to the medical room. Captain Hayley Matthews led the innings with 30 off 28, sharing a 47-run opening stand with Qiana Joseph (16 off 22). But Georgia Wareham struck with her first delivery to remove Matthews, triggering a collapse from 47/1 to 83/6.
Shemaine Campbelle added 22, while Dottin returned to smash 26 off 16, lifting West Indies to 125/7.

Australia's chase began confidently. Georgia Voll (16) and Phoebe Litchfield (4) fell early, but Mooney took charge, racing to a half-century off just 29 balls. Gardner, who earlier impressed with 2/13, contributed an unbeaten 35, sharing an 84-run unbroken stand with Mooney. Captain Sophie Molineux (2/30), Wareham (2/17), and Annabel Sutherland (1/26) complemented Gardner's bowling.

There was a minor injury concern when Ellyse Perry left the field with a quad issue, but Australia hope she recovers for Sunday's final.
With this emphatic victory, Australia now await the winner of England vs South Africa, aiming for a record-extending seventh title.
