Australia etched another golden chapter in their storied cricketing history, capturing the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 title with a commanding seven-wicket victory over hosts England in front of a record-breaking 28,000-plus crowd at Lord's on Sunday. The invincible Aussies completed an unbeaten tournament run, successfully chasing down England's total of 150/4 in just 17.1 overs, registering the highest successful run chase in a Women's T20 World Cup final.

The great Beth Mooney once again proved her big-game pedigree, anchoring the chase with a sublime 64 off 49 balls, her third half-century in a T20 World Cup final following her fifties in 2020 and 2023.
She shared a match-defining 100-run second-wicket stand with Phoebe Litchfield, who blazed 48 off 35 with two sixes and six fours. Earlier, Australia's bowlers kept England's star-studded line-up in check, with Lucy Hamilton, Annabel Sutherland, Kim Garth, and skipper Sophie Molineux all claiming wickets.

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt fought valiantly with 58 off 53, while Freya Kemp's quickfire 44 off 28 provided late impetus, but the total proved insufficient.
After Litchfield fell and Mooney was trapped LBW, the experienced duo of Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner calmly guided Australia home. This victory marks Australia's seventh T20 World Cup crown and a stunning 14th women's World Cup overall, ending England's perfect record at home World Cups and returning the Aussies to the summit of T20 cricket after three years.
