Delhi: On Wednesday, a wonderful news came out for Indian cricket fans. India’s star left-arm spinner Sai Kishore has signed a big deal with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club for the last six matches of the County Championship 2026 season.

Sai Kishore, who plays for Gujarat Titans in IPL, will be available for selection for the team from August 20 for the match against Worcestershire County Cricket Club in Cheltenham.

Earlier, while playing for Surrey County Cricket Club in the year 2025, he had left his mark in English conditions by taking 11 wickets in two matches.

Sai Kishore looked very happy after joining Gloucestershire. He said in his statement,

‘I am grateful to John and all the people of Gloucestershire for this opportunity. Gloucestershire is a club with a rich history and a fantastic setup. Getting the opportunity to play cricket here is incredibly exciting for me.

He further said, ‘I always wanted to test my bowling in English conditions. After talking to the management, I knew that this was the right decision for me. I am looking forward to meeting the fans in Bristol and Cheltenham and contributing to the team’s victory.

Sai Kishore’s record in first class cricket

Sai Kishore has been one of the most consistent bowlers in India’s domestic red-ball cricket. So far, he has bowled brilliantly in 54 first class matches for Tamil Nadu and taken 223 wickets. Apart from this, he has also been a part of the Indian team that won the gold medal in the 2023 Asian Games.

Even in IPL, he has taken 33 wickets in 28 matches.

Gloucestershire head coach John Lewis welcomed Sai Kishore to the team, saying,

‘We are very excited to include Sai Kishore in our team. He is a proven and experienced cricketer who will provide great strength to our group. At this stage of the season the conditions in England are often quite favorable for spin bowling. In such a situation, we hope that Sai will make an important and very positive contribution to the team.
