Rohit Sharma scored a hundred in the ENG vs IND 3rd ODI, but his effort went in vain as the host nation secured a 27-run win to clinch the series 2-1. Chasing a mammoth of 388, the Men in Blue were restricted to 360 for 7 in 50 overs. Rohit scored 138 runs off 118 balls, including 17 fours and 5 sixes. Sam Curran was the difference between the two sides as his four wickets in a span of a few overs confirmed India’s loss.

He got rid of Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel. When Kohli and Rohit were in the middle, India had a chance, but the dismissal of the latter started the batting collapse. Jacob Bethell bowled him after cramps restricted his movement in the middle.

Bethell was the first one to be dismissed, but not before accumulating a 93-ball 91, packed with 11 fours and 2 sixes. Duckett contributed 141 runs off 135 balls, hitting 18 fours and 1 six.

Joe Root struck his third consecutive half-century in the three-match series. He scored an unbeaten 74 runs in 48 balls, including 9 fours. It was Jos Buttler, who was unstoppable, amassing 41 not out in just 13 balls. He smashed 4 boundaries and 3 sixes as England reached 387 for 3 in 50 overs. For India, Prasidh Krishna claimed two wickets while Prince Yadav added one scalp to his bowling figures.
