New Delhi : BCCI has decided to implement the rules suggested by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in its domestic cricket. BCCI will implement this rule in its domestic cricket. London’s MCC had suggested several rules regarding the changes in cricket that BCCI is going to implement and has sent their copies to all the state teams so that the upcoming domestic season can be conducted without any confusion.

There were also new minor changes including the width of the leg side in ODI and T20.

Let us tell you that a big factor in these changes is the last over of Test cricket. According to the new rule, if a wicket falls in the last over of the day, the over will be completed. Earlier what used to happen was that in such a situation the umpire would declare the day’s play over. Apart from this, there have also been new minor changes including the width of the leg side in ODI and T20. These changes will be seen in India’s domestic tournaments which include Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and many other tournaments.

Know the rules implemented by BCCI

• Now in first-class cricket it will be important to complete the last over of the day, even if the wicket does not fall.
• If the batsmen deliberately score less runs, then in such a situation the captain of the fielding team will have the right to decide which batsman will be on strike on the next ball.
• New guidelines have been issued regarding the width of the leg side in ODI and T20.
• During ODI matches, the team head coach will be able to come onto the field during the drinks break.
• The head coach will be allowed to enter the field during the drinks break during ODI matches.
• The rules for declaring the ball dead have also been changed. Now for this it is not necessary for the ball to go from the wicketkeeper’s hand to the bowler. If the ball passes the fielder, the ball falls on the field.
• All fielders must be within the boundary when the ball is bowled. This is to ensure that play takes place within the boundaries and also to compensate for deficiencies on the leg side.
• The wicketkeeper must be behind the wicket when the ball is bowled, previously this started from the moment the ball came into play. Additionally, the wicketkeeper will no longer be penalized for keeping his gloves forward during the run-up.
