Several of India’s leading cricketers are set to feature once more in the Hundred after sitting out the 2025 edition.

The seventh season of the Hundred begins on Tuesday at The Oval, with both the men’s and women’s tournaments commencing simultaneously. Indian players are eligible to compete only in the women’s event, and following their failure to reach the knockout stages of the recent Women’s T20 World Cup, a number of India’s top performers will return to T20 action in the United Kingdom. Here is a look at the Indian players who will take part in this season’s women’s Hundred and the teams they will represent.

Smriti Mandhana (Manchester Super Giants)

India’s highest run-scorer from the latest T20 World Cup will make her return to the Hundred after missing the previous campaign. This will be Mandhana’s fifth appearance in the competition, and her first for a new team after representing Southern Brave from 2021 to 2024. She joins Manchester Super Giants, led by Meg Lanning, a side yet to finish in the top four.

Mandhana lifted the title with the Brave in 2023 and enjoyed her most productive seasons in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, when the Brave finished runners-up, she compiled 211 runs from eight innings at an average of 30.14 and a strike rate of 151.79.

The following year she scored 238 runs in nine innings at 29.75, though her strike rate dipped to 133.70.

Richa Ghosh (Manchester Super Giants)

Richa Ghosh will team up with Mandhana once again at the Super Giants, mirroring their partnership for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Women’s Premier League. Ghosh will serve as the team’s second wicketkeeping option alongside Mia Rogers, and this season will mark her third different Hundred franchise in as many years.

She played for London Spirit in 2023 and Birmingham Phoenix in 2024. Her returns in both seasons were modest, managing 107 runs from six innings in 2023 and 62 runs from four innings in 2024, averaging below 20 on both occasions.

However, Ghosh showed improvement during the recent T20 World Cup, scoring 80 runs in five innings at an average of 26.66, and will be eager to deliver stronger performances in this year’s tournament.

Jemimah Rodrigues (Southern Brave)

Like her close friend Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues will also represent a new side after three previous stints in the competition.

Rodrigues joins Southern Brave, reuniting with her Delhi Capitals vice-captain Laura Wolvaardt and head coach Jonathan Batty, after transferring from Sunrisers Leeds (formerly Northern Superchargers).

Rodrigues endured a disappointing T20 World Cup, scoring just 92 runs from five innings, and will be aiming to regain her form. In her debut Hundred season in 2021, she amassed 249 runs at an average of 41.50 and a striking rate of 150.90, a performance that earned her a recall to India’s T20I squad. However, she has struggled to replicate those numbers since.

She featured in only two matches in 2022, and in 2023, her nine innings produced 151 runs at an average of 16.77 and a strike rate of 118.89.

Deepti Sharma (Sunrisers Leeds)

All-rounder Deepti Sharma returns to the Hundred two years after sealing victory for London Spirit with a match-winning six to secure the title. This season, she will represent Sunrisers Leeds in her third Hundred campaign, following previous appearances in 2021 and 2024. Deepti will spearhead the spin department alongside Jess Jonassen, under the leadership of Dani Gibson.

Deepti enjoyed an outstanding 2024 season, scoring 212 runs at an average of 212 and claiming eight wickets at an economy rate of 8.65. She makes her comeback to the competition after opting out of her £36,000 (US$48,400 approx.) contract last year to take a brief break ahead of the ODI World Cup.
