Delhi: Despite suffering a 3-0 defeat in the three-match T20 International series against India, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza described it as a great learning opportunity for his team. He believes that only by continuously playing against the strong teams of the world, the level of teams like Zimbabwe will improve and in future they will be able to give a tough challenge to the top countries.

Indian batsmen performed brilliantly in the third and final match played at Harare Sports Club. Thanks to the explosive innings of 81 runs by young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, India made a strong score of 192/5 in 20 overs. In reply, despite Ryan Burl’s unbeaten 54 runs, Zimbabwe could only reach 157/7 and lost the last match of the series.

Playing against strong teams will be beneficial

After the series ended, Sikandar Raza said that getting a chance to play against world class teams like India is very important for the development of Zimbabwe cricket.

He said that if his team will continuously play matches against top countries, then only the players will get greater level of experience and the gap between the two teams will gradually reduce.

Raza believes that when more and more countries play competitive cricket, it will raise the level of world cricket and the game will become more exciting than ever.

Young players left a positive impression

The Zimbabwe captain also praised the performance of the young players in the series. He said that Nyamahuri made a positive impact on the team, while Marumani played his role well in the middle order.

Apart from this, Madhevere also tried to strengthen the team by playing useful innings.

According to Raza, even though the result of the series was not in their favor, many players have raised hopes for the future with their performance and this was the biggest achievement of this tour.
