Mumbai: Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has made a big revelation regarding the advice he received from batting legend Virat Kohli. Sanju told that Virat had told him many important things to fitness, lifestyle and discipline, which he tried to implement in his life.
Sanju Samson said that he likes the passion with which Virat Kohli works in the gym. He told that Virat had advised him to maintain diet and lifestyle as an international cricketer.
Sanju said, “We all know how Virat bhai is. He is very clear and direct with everyone. If you have to do something, he tells you clearly what is required. His style in the gym shows a different energy and I like it very much.”
He told that during the Indian team camp, he had asked Virat what he should do. In response to this, Virat told him that to become a cricketer it is necessary to maintain a certain kind of lifestyle.
Sanju said that Virat had told him which food would help the body in recovery and which would not.
He advised that if he maintained discipline for the next 10 years, he could have a great career.Sanju told that he followed Virat’s advice for about one and a half years, but after that he was not able to stick to it continuously.
Regarding his career, he said that there is constant competition in Indian cricket and instead of playing in the 2026 T20 World Cup, he has decided to enjoy his game and play on his own terms.
Sanju Samson said that after the 2024 T20 World Cup, he did not expect that he would be a part of the 2026 World Cup plans.
He said that he wants to perform well for the team and will contribute for the team when needed.Sanju Samson has so far scored 1432 runs in 58 innings in 66 T20 International matches. During this period, his average has been 27.01 and strike rate 155.99, which includes three centuries and six half-centuries. In ODI, he has scored 510 runs in 14 innings of 16 matches.
