Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) recently removed Stephen Fleming from the post of head coach after 18 seasons. Since then the team is looking for a new head coach. In such a situation, former CSK player Ravichandran Ashwin had told that the name of Eoin Morgan is at the forefront in this race. However, according to former Indian legend Kris Srikkanth, this is not a better option for CSK. He has suggested the name of former Australian legend for the head coach.
Srikanth believes that Morgan is not the right choice for the coaching role. According to him, Morgan was a better player and captain for England. But, he has not done anything special for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Srikanth even said that Morgan should concentrate only on commentary.
Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel, “I would definitely not choose Eoin Morgan. He was a good player and a good captain for England. But as a coach, I would not consider him an option. Even when he was the captain of KKR, he did not do anything special. It would be better for him to just focus on commentary.”
Srikanth believes that the team needs to bring someone from outside. According to him, CSK's batting coach, former Australian legend Michael Hussey, should be made the head coach.
Srikkanth said, “CSK does not need to bring anyone from outside, because they already have 'Mr. Cricket'. Michael Hussey should be made the next head coach of CSK. He will be the best choice for this post. But what will be the role of MS Dhoni in CSK going forward? It is important to finalize this arrangement first. Only after this the rest of the things will be decided properly.”
