Delhi:The first Test being played between Sri Lanka and India in Galle has now reached a very exciting turn. By the end of the fourth day's play, India had set a big target of 372 runs for Sri Lanka, in response to which the host team lost 4 wickets for 84 runs. Sri Lanka now has to score 288 more runs to win, while the Indian team needs 6 wickets to win the test.

Looking at the situation of the match, India seems to be a strong contender for victory, but on the fifth day, one such thing can spoil the game of Team India, over which no one has any control.

That is rain.

Even in the first four days of the Galle Test, the weather has disrupted the game several times. In such a situation, the fear of rain on the fifth day has increased the concern of the Indian team. If there is continuous rain and fewer overs in the game, then Sri Lanka may get the advantage of avoiding defeat.

Most worried about rain in the first session

The fifth day's play will start at 9:45 am Indian time.

According to the weather report, the probability of rain is going to be highest in the first session of the day.

The probability of rain in Galle at 10 am is said to be around 49 percent. After this, it may increase to 52 percent at 11 o'clock. The probability of rain at 12 noon is expected to reach around 58 to 60 percent.

That means the first three hours of the match are going to be very important for India. If the game stops due to rain during this period, then the Indian bowlers will get less time to take the remaining 6 wickets of Sri Lanka.

Weather may provide relief in the second session

The good news is that the weather is expected to improve in the afternoon.

The probability of rain may reduce to around 25 percent at 1 pm. After this, it is expected to be around 20 percent from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Even at 5 pm, the probability of rain is around 20 percent, while at 6 pm it may increase to around 25 percent.

If this weather forecast proves correct, then India will have to survive the rain in the first session. In the next two sessions, the team may get good time to wrap up Sri Lanka's innings.

India looking for only 6 wickets

On the fourth day, Indian bowlers made a great start in the second innings of Sri Lanka.

The host team lost 4 wickets before reaching 84 runs. Now captain Shubman Gill's team needs only 6 wickets to win.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka has a big mountain of 288 runs in front of it. In such a situation, the first effort of the host team will be to spend maximum time at the crease on the fifth day.

This is the reason why rain will be no less than a boon for Sri Lanka. If the match is interrupted several times and not enough overs are bowled, India's chance of victory may be lost.
