Duleep Trophy 2026: Day 2 Live Updates — East Zone Resume on 355/6; West Zone Chase North’s 251
Bengaluru, August 24: East Zone will resume their Duleep Trophy quarter-final against North East Zone at 355/6, after centuries from Sudip Kumar Gharami (146) and Shahbaz Ahmed (100)* put them in a commanding position on Day 1.

Gharami struck 25 boundaries in his 146 before being dismissed by Pheiroijam Jotin, while Shahbaz remained unbeaten at the close. East Zone had earlier lost teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for just 8, along with Abhimanyu Easwaran, but recovered strongly through Gharami and Shahbaz.

In the other quarter-final, Tanush Kotian and Tushar Deshpande took four wickets apiece as West Zone bowled North Zone out for 251. Kotian finished with 4/72, while Deshpande returned 4/57.

Anshul Kamboj top-scored for North Zone with 60, including five sixes, while Ayush Badoni made 51. West Zone ended the day at 31/2, trailing North Zone by 220 runs. Prithvi Shaw and Harvik Desai were the two wickets to fall before stumps.
