Delhi: After poor performance in IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings is now moving towards revamping its team. After the resignation of the team's long-time head coach Stephen Fleming, CSK is now looking for a new coach. Meanwhile, former Australian batsman Matthew Hayden has suggested a name which can fit well in the Chennai team.

Hayden suggested the name of Dinesh Karthik

Matthew Hayden believes that former Indian wicketkeeper batsman and RCB batting coach and mentor Dinesh Karthik can be a great choice for the role of head coach of CSK.

Hayden said that it is important for the head coach of a big franchise like CSK to have local connections and that is why Dinesh Karthik seems to be the right choice for him.

He said, 'I think Dinesh is ready for this kind of role. It is important for the head coach of a big franchise like CSK to have a local touch. He has connections with Chennai, so according to me Dinesh will be perfect.

Karthik's experience will also be useful in RCB

Dinesh Karthik's coaching career is still in its initial stages, but he has got team management experience with RCB.

A big reason for Hayden's suggestion is that Karthik understands well the needs of the dressing room and modern T20 cricket. In such a situation, this responsibility for CSK can be the next big step for them.

Fleming and Dhoni pair had a great period

Stephen Fleming took over the responsibility of head coach in 2009 after joining CSK in 2008. During his tenure the team won five IPL titles.

The pairing of Fleming and MS Dhoni is counted among the biggest reasons for the success of CSK. Hayden also praised the coordination between the two and said that it was a very successful partnership for CSK. Now after Fleming's departure, the biggest question before CSK is who will replace him.

Eoin Morgan's name also in discussion

Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had also made a big claim regarding the new head coach of CSK. He had said that the name of former England captain Eoin Morgan is running very strongly in this race.

According to Ashwin, initial talks may also take place regarding Morgan's entry in CSK.
