A century from Tim Seifert and an impressive spell from Roston Chase have set up Saint Lucia Kings for a 36-run victory against Knight Riders in Trinidad.

Chase returned with 3/24 bowling figures, setting up a crucial win for the side as Kings climbed to the top of the CPL 2026 Points Table.

Being invited to bat first, Saint Lucia Kings’ Tim Seifert put up a solid stand despite Kamil Pooran going back to the dugout after scoring 25 runs. With Seifert and John Campbell at the crease, Saint Lucia Kings scored 64 runs in the powerplay.

With a decent contribution from Campbell (27), Seifert smashed his fifty and continued his on-field slaughter, smashing his second CPL century.

Charith Asalanka added 33 runs off 21 deliveries before Pollard powered his dismissal, and Colin Munro took the catch.

Despite Obus Pienaar’s cheap dismissal, Seifert went on to smash his century and remained unbeaten with 105 runs off 61 deliveries. His knocks included 9 fours and 5 sixes.

By the end of 20 overs, Saint Lucia Kings scored 211/4, with Sunil Narine, Usman Tariq and Pollard bagging one wicket each.

Chasing the target, Colin Munro and Sunil Narine opened the innings while Matthew Forde opened the bowling attack.

The duo put up a decent start, scoring 56 runs in the powerplay and putting up a 70-run partnership for the 1st wicket. Roston Chase drew the first blood, dismissing Sunil Narine for 25 runs.

Chase did not stop as he picked up the wickets of Matthew Breetzke and Nicholas Pooran for ducks.

Despite Tromp adding 15 runs, Trinbago Knight Riders struggled to score runs. However, a rapid-fire from Kieron Pollard has shown a glimpse of home. He smashed a quick 26-ball 65 before Matthew Forde bagged his wicket.

By the end of 20 overs, Jyd Goolie added 16* runs. However, Trinbago Knight Riders managed to score only 175 runs and lost the game by 36 runs.

Roston Chase bagged three wickets while Matthew Forde, Joshua Bishop and Keon Gaston bagged one wicket each.

Tim Seifert was named player of the match. Speaking at his post-match presentation, Seifert said, “Very pleased. Look, the most important thing is we got the win tonight against a very good team. And, it probably wasn’t the best of starts for us the first five games, but we said to ourselves, forget about that and focus on the next five, and we’re two for two. It’s a great night, and to come here and win, it’s a huge confidence from the boys.”
