Kanpur. The Kanpur leg of UP T-20 League Season 4 started with a explosive century by Kashi Rudras captain Karn Sharma. In the first decisive match played at Green Park Stadium on Friday, Karn Sharma completed his third century in the league by playing a captaincy inning of 102 runs. Abhishek Goswami played a half-century inning of 63 runs, while Vijay Yadav took four wickets. Kashi defeated Noida Kings by a huge margin of 67 runs.

Noida Kings won the toss and invited Kashi to bat first. Kashi took full advantage of this and scored a strong score of 217 runs for seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Opening pair Abhishek Goswami and Karn Sharma made a partnership of 102 runs for the first wicket. Goswami scored 63 runs in 34 balls with the help of 11 fours, while Karn Sharma scored 102 runs in 51 balls with the help of 11 fours and five sixes. He was out on the first ball of the last over, but by then had given the team the foundation of a big score. Karna also made a partnership of 42 runs for the fourth wicket with Shubham Chaubey.

Chasing the huge target of 217 runs, Noida Kings were all out for 150 runs in 18.4 overs. Shoaib Siddiqui and Madhav Kaushik tried to give a fast start to the team. Madhav scored 42 runs in 29 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes, but the rest of the batsmen could not do anything special. Prashant Veer was out after scoring 23 runs, while Ravi Singh, Anivesh Chaudhary, Aditya Sharma and Karthik Sidhu quickly returned to the pavilion. For Kashi, Vijay Yadav took four wickets for 23 runs in four overs. Rishabh Rajput got three wickets and Atal Bihari Rai got two wickets.

This first match of the Kanpur phase was formally started by Kanpur MP Ramesh Awasthi with the toss and the traditional bell ringing ceremony.
