A brilliant performance from Rahkeem Cornwall and Hasan Nawaz has set up Antigua and Barbuda Falcons for an 8-run victory against Trinbago Knight Riders, played in Trinidad.

After Hasan Nawaz made a stellar knock (76), Rahkeem Cornwall’s economical spell with a three-wicket haul to set up a win for the side. With this win, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons secured a top spot in the CPL 2026 Points table.

Being invited to bat first, Evin Lewis and Rahkeem Cornwall made a decent start, scoring 40 runs for the first wicket. Cornwall fired a quick 7-ball 20 before being dismissed by Usman Tariq.

With Amir Jangoo and Evin Lewis at the crease, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons scored 43 runs in the powerplay. Lewis added 24 runs before being dismissed by Akeal Hosein.

Hasan Nawaz, who came to bat at No. 4, added fifty while Jangoo got dismissed for 6 runs. Nawaz went on to score 76 runs before walking back to the dugout. With Moeen Ali and Shadab Khan at the crease, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons scored 183 runs in their 20-over innings.

Chasing a 184-run target, Colin Munro and Sunil Narine opened the innings, where the former got dismissed by Rahkeem Cornwall for 18 runs.

He bagged his second wicket, dismissing the other opener for 1 run. With Hales and Pooran dismissed for 8 and 22 runs, Riders lost four wickets in the powerplay.

Greaves added 18 runs before being dismissed by Springer. However, Kieron Pollard and Joshua da Silva forged a 55-run partnership before Pollard was dismissed for 41 runs.

Terrance Hinds, who came to bat, got dismissed on a runout while Joshua da Silva remained unbeaten with 54 runs. By the end of 20 overs, Trinbago Knight Riders scored 175 runs as they suffered a narrow 8-run defeat.

Rahkeem Cornwall bagged three wickets while Joshua James bagged two wickets. Rahkeem Cornwall was named player of the match. Speaking at the post-match presentation, he said, “It was very important. My role in the team is to get the team off to a fast start in the powerplay, and tonight is one of those nights that I got off to a fast start.”
