Former South Africa spinner Imran Tahir made it to the history books when he became the oldest player in the history of T20 Cricket to take a fifer. Imran achieved the feat in the Caribbean Premier League 2026 game against the Saint Lucia Kings. The leggie achieved the milestone at the age of 47 years and 167 days, going past the previous record of Tomakunate Ritawa from the Cook Islands, who did so at 46 years and 299 days four years ago.

Imran got the wicket of top-scorer Kamil Pooran, who was given LBW for 43 runs. Guyana Amazon Warriors skipper then dismissed opposition skipper Roston Chase for one run. McKenny Clarke and Matthew Forde were undone by Tahir, with both batters failing to open their accounts.

His fifth wicket came in the form of Joshua Bishop, who scored five runs as the Kings were bowled out for 119 runs with seven balls left. Former Proteas star ended with figures of 5/17 from his four overs. With his fifer, the veteran spinner has also risen to fifth in the leading wicket-takers tally in the CPL 2026.
